Way back in 2012, Michael and Jason were watching “The Game Chasers” on YouTube and decided it might be a fun time to start hitting up garage sales and flea markets just to see what they could score for a good deal. The first toy that they bought was at the very first garage sale they shopped. It was a vintage 1977 Shogun Godzilla. The Godzilla cost them a whopping $1 and they found out later that day it was valued at over $125. Hence, the hunt was on and soon they were shopping every weekend for games, toys, comic books, and collectables.

Fast forward to today and you will find Mike and Jason managing an ever-growing and constantly changing very successful business. When they started out in a quaint mall storefront they never dreamed of one day owning a 8000+ square foot store. They also manage an inventory warehouse and have recently purchased a media store.

Battlegrounds Games & Comics started out as just a hobby shared among two best friends. The two friends started out being Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts in the mid-90’s. Both played and enjoyed the game. Jason Mathis and Michael Gunter never thought that they would own the largest Comic and Collectables store in the state of Georgia, but life has a way of dropping things into your life when you least expect them.
